Graphing Inequalities

Today sixth graders reviewed how to graph inequalities.  Check out this image below for a little more detail!
The big concept that we reviewed is how when the sign is "less than or equal to" or "greater than or equal to" the circle is closed.  When the sign is > or <, the circle is open.

Students also began an investigation on how to solve more difficult inequalities such as "55< 62 - y".  Our approach we took to solve this problem was to add y to both sides before we worked on getting the variable by itself.  You can see an example of this in the image below.
